Crossing over – what happens first

When someone passes away it’s always devastating to us who are left behind. Did you know what happens to our loved ones when they make the journey home?

There have been many times when a loved one will try and communicate with you before you go. Gord, my step dad came to me in a dream the night before he passed. In this “dream” he was stuck inside a closet that had no door. He was walking around inside, bumping into the walls and he said to me ” I don’t know which way to go?”. He was clearly lost, frustrated and not sure what he was doing. Now I have to admit that my dream self didn’t realize this was a visit and not a dream, and of course with watching “The Walking Dead” tv show, my dream self said “Don’t eat the people!!”. I guess in the dream, this apparently made perfect sense. After walking up, I realized it for what it was and had a sense of foreboding the entire day. I drove to the hospital that day and visited with him. (He had been sedated for almost 2 weeks prior because the cancer had caused him to be lucid and anytime he was “awake” he would try and pull out his ports). I talked with him, told him about the dream I had of him and imparted better advice. Telling him we would miss him, and that when he crossed over, he would see my mom and for him to tell her that we miss her too. Gord passed away around 1pm that day. Not even 2 hours after I had left.

So what happens when they have given their last breath? Well, our loved ones do not need to leave right away. Despite no longer having a physical body, they prefer to stay here for 10-14 days. Wanting to ensure that we are the ones okay. They know where they are and happy to go home, but see us being sad for the next part of their journey. They want to ensure that we are processing their passing and accepting of it. That we are accepting of their passing and able to grieve properly. They are also able to say their goodbyes. To leave signs that they are okay.

Most psychics will find it difficult to connect to someone who has crossed over after the 14 day mark. Once they have been gone for longer than 6 months, it feels like you can connect to them again. Why is this? Although there is no time on the other side, there is a process that they go through once they cross over.

After they have said their goodbyes, they go into a holding room on the other side. Think of it as a theatre room. It seats the individual and their Spirit Guide will remain behind them. Providing them love and support as they go through their life review. Sometimes our hard/difficult lessons take a toll on our soul after we cross. Being hard on ourselves on the things we did to ourselves and the people we cared about. This review allows us the bigger picture. The pieces of the puzzle that we were not privileged too on earth. The why’s of what happened to us and why we needed to go through that. This often allows us to not only forgive ourselves, but others as well.

After this life review, our lessons retained we are able to continue with reconnecting to others who have passed before us. Like a little reunion and reconnection!

Interested in Tarot Cards?

If you have an interest in developing your own Psychic gifts, learning the Tarot cards is the easiest way to get started. I have many tarot decks and use them as an add on for readings. My two favorite decks are as follows!

John Holland – The Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck

John Holland - The Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck
John Holland – The Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck

This tarot deck is one I purchased while at a lecture from John Holland. If you ever get a chance to see a lecture in person by him, he is one that you will enjoy and be impressed!

This tarot deck is perfect for what will be coming next, or even using in a past/present/future life spread. Allowing you guidance into what might be holding you back, what could be happening right now that you need more focus on, so that what is to happen in the future will allow you to move forward. These cards are easy to follow and they do have a guidebook that you can read to follow up for the meaning of the cards.

My second favorite Tarot deck is Denise Linn – Soul Coaching Oracle Cards

Denise Linn Soul Coaching Oracle cards

This deck is a very empowering deck that provides you insight into what is happening right now and into the close future. Providing you a glimpse and insight into what you need to know. They are very uplifting and a positive message that many people can resonate too. This deck has a positive influence and a good energy about them.

They offer the card meaning, what your soul wants you to know by having this card, and the positive affirmation that goes with it to “activate” this into your life.

Another way to read a tarot card that you might find to be fun. Take a card without looking at the picture and hold it against your heart. Feel the card’s energy and allow whatever visuals to come into your mind. Pictures, colors, feelings. Write it down. When you feel you have everything, look at the card. Does it have similar characteristics to what you had seen/felt? Not only then should you look up the interpretation of the card, but also what you had written down. These will also play a factor in the message you have received.

I usually purchase my tarot cards from Hay House – https://www.hayhouse.com/

Which Tarot Decks do you own?

Remember, a tarot deck is meant to offer you guidance and insight into your life but is not to take away from your own common sense. If your unsure of a meaning of a card please contact someone for help. A tarot reading is meant to be positive. Your guides will always operate in a positive light and not provide you negative insight. Any negative interpretation is likely a miss-interpretation.

Your guides and how they communicate

What is a guide? A guide is someone who you have trusted with your soul for this life. Someone who is on the other side, and will ensure that you follow your life plan. We choose certain “themes” or “life lessons”. What we would like to learn this time and take back to the other side.

They will support you, love you unconditionally and do what they can to help you in this life to be successful. They can NOT interfere, but they can leave signs, they can help connections happen in your life that help propel those lessons and experiences further.

The easiest way for them to communicate is through dreams. You may not always remember your dreams but you could ask that they let you. Before going to bed, make sure that you tell your guides what insight your looking for, and that you would like to remember when you wake up. The dream might not even make sense, but write down the elements of it. There are many dream dictionaries online.

Signs: this can happen with things that you see visually. Perhaps a poster on the wall draws your attention and there is a specific word/meaning/cue on there that you might not have noticed otherwise. Your guides have drawn your attention to it. A quick nudge in the hopes of getting you back on track and helping you find the answers you seek. Perhaps you were looking for insight on starting a new job or changing career paths, and then an ad on the radio comes on talking about this new position. These are not coincidences!

Some people are clairaudient and able to hear their guides. Some people do not even realize that they are conversing with their guides and just rule it off as their own inner thoughts. How many times though, have you received information that you had no idea how you could possibly know? Or known where an item is and yet you should have no knowledge of it being there? If you listen closely, your thoughts are different than that of your guides, or loved ones who have crossed over. The tone or the words used would be different than how your own inner thoughts sound.

Has anyone connected with their guides in one of these ways?

Loosing a loved one…

This is never an easy time in life. I know that we all look for proof that our loved ones have made it to the other side. Some sort of sign that will bring us comfort that they are okay. I wanted to share 2 of my own experiences that might help you with your own loss and perhaps validate for you that your own experience was real, not a coincidence.

My mom passed away March 8, 2010. I received a call around 10:30pm from her husband Gord. He told me she was having a heart attack and things didn’t look good and that the paramedics were already with them for the last 30 minutes and they would be taking her to the hospital. I am just under an hour away. I get dressed, call my sister and have her head over (she was 10 minutes away) and “flew” down the highway. I don’t know what I was thinking. I just wanted to get there. I wanted to encourage her to fight. I was literally 5 minutes away from her house and as if she was sitting beside me, I heard the words clear as day “Rally racer rally racer”. Her voice as well. It was then that I knew she had crossed over. That racing there was no longer something I needed to do. She was gone.

I arrived at the hospital and they confirmed, they had tried everything, but nothing could be done.

Sheila & Gord
Sheila & Gord

The second time:
My step Dad Gord, had been fighting cancer since November. It was in May that the tumor had grown so large, that it was blocking his airway in his neck and restricting blood flow to his brain. They had no choice but to sedate him, as when alert he would try and pull out all of his ports, any tubes that were helping him to receive oxygen.. anything that would help keep him alive. As a family we had been told by the Dr’s there was nothing further they could do for him, and would have to keep him sedated until he passed away. Through conversations with Gord, he drew the line at being a “vegetable” and had told us he would rather they stopped all life support if that were to happen.
The longest 2 weeks of my life occurred during this time and it was hard to watch. I spent every day at the hospital, talking to him, letting him know I was there. Arranging for other people to visit with him as well. Say their goodbyes. It was June 16th, 2016 that I had a dream of Gord. I realized the next day that this was no ordinary dream. He came to me in a dream, he was “stuck” in this dark closet and was bumping into the walls, going back and forth like a blind person not being able to find their way out. He said “I don’t know where I am supposed to go”. Like all dreams, our imagination goes wild and apparently my dreaming self thought this response was appropriate “Don’t eat the people!” (I watch too much walking dead and obviously thought he was a zombie?!) The next day, I drove to the hospital. It was my 40th birthday. I told Gord about my dream, about what I had said to him and then let him know that my mom was waiting for him. That I loved him, that we would all miss him and to tell my mom I miss her too. I headed home to pick up my kids from school, to get a call from Gord’s daughter in law that she was told that there was signs it could happen any minute. I raced back, and missed him by 10 minutes.

Your loved ones will do their best to show you signs that they are okay. That they made it. Whether it’s manifesting through voice near you, out loud or in your head. Perhaps it’s through a “dream”. Your loved ones will utilize your strengths to connect with you. Too often we think it’s a coincidence. We assume it was wishful thinking. There are a lot of signs that will show you that they are thinking of you and not too far.

I’d love to hear your storey – comment below and someone randomly will win a connection with a loved one from me 🙂 (If it won’t let you comment below, please comment on the post on facebook and you will still be entered to win)

Ever had a dream that shook you to the core?

Do you ever wake up from a dream and think “what the heck?”

I dream almost every night. The things that go through my mind while sleeping, I am sure you would not believe half of the stuff that comes through!

In my dream last night, I was driving my van down a road, and literally a rock slide started in front of me. As I continued to try and out maneuver this rock slide, I quickly turned down a street only to see that start to be blocked off as well. I quickly floored it and turned around because I didn’t want to be trapped down that street. As I got further away to a safe area it showed me standing beside my Dad. As we talked, we realized that all over the world, parts of land had sunken into the ground. Collapsed a bit further into the earth. Like a sink hole, but not as deep! My dad commented that the water supply would be next. I was shocked, because where would the water all go? He referred to the water that was stored for drinking and that there was a hole now in the bottom. We watched the news, and sure enough as it continued with the media coverage they reported on all of the damage, and how low the water was getting. I looked at my Dad and said “its the end of the world as we know it… isn’t it”. Then I woke up.

Is this dream the prediction of the end of the world? No, I do not think so.  Sometimes our dreams are our guides showing us things that are happening in our waking life. Things that we need to pay more attention too in order to move forward. What does my dream say to me?  I love using dreammoods.com to help interpret my dreams. When something is prominent I know there is further meaning (Not like my plants vs zombie dream the one night!)

Here is what my dream means
Rock Slide
To see a rock slide in your dream suggests that you are experiencing a “rocky” period in your waking life. You are overwhelmed with pressure. You feel like the weight of life’s daily demands is crumbling down on you.

Driving
To dream that you are driving a vehicle signifies your life’s journey and your path in life. The dream is telling of how you are moving and navigating through life.

There is change that is happening in my life, I provide daycare before and after school, and one of the parents that has two children is possibly going to homeschool next year, another one of my daycare kids is done with daycare as she starts middle school next year and then my last two kids are my nephews. My sister lost her current contract (it ended) and will be looking closer to home for new work, which means that she could possibly pick up her own kids after school and also will not need care…

So the dilemma for me, is not knowing what comes next. I can’t read myself and I wonder if this is a sign that I move on to something else and let the daycare part of my life naturally phase out, or if I start with new kids.

What are your thoughts?

Tarot cards for readings?

When I am working on a reading, I do not usually use tarot cards. All of the information I receive is done through intuitively, through my guides and yours and given to you as I am shown it. There are some instances when the message/vision is not 100% clear, or I am not sure how I should interpret this. This is when a tarot card would come in handy!

I have many decks, but my favorites are John Hollands “The Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck”, Denise Linn “Soul Coaching Oracle Cards” and James Van Praagh “The Soul’s Journey Lesson cards”. These by far I feel the most connected too and I feel provide more insight than others that I have tried.

How do you use a tarot card? Aside from the traditional method’s printed in the instruction booklet with your tarot deck, if your just taking ONE card to add to a reading, hold the card in both hands, without looking at it, and feel the energy. What are the visuals your guides are telling you. Is there a feeling? A color, or a message? Write it down. After you have done this, look at the card. Does it have the elements on the card on what you had felt? Include what you have written down, along with the interpretation of the card. Often times, your own intuition/insight will come through in regards to how the card will fit.
