My Grandmother…

My grandmother passed away on the 20th of this month.

Is it wrong that I am “happy” for her? When I mention that to people, I get the oddest look and realize that my sentiments might come across as a bit odd.

Don’t get me wrong, I am sad for me that she is gone and I will miss her, but she did live a long life (She was 89) and for months now she has been saying that she is “done”. (Including saying if she found a way to kill herself she would do it if she knew it would be 100% successful).

The last few weeks were difficult. I spent time with her, we chatted about life. Her history (something I always enjoyed but she felt like she was always repeating herself) She was starting to not be as aware as what would be considered “normal” for her.

I had stopped in on the 18th, brought her some timbits (Mini donuts here in Canada) as I heard she hadn’t been eating. My grandmother has a sweet tooth so figured I would get something into her. I walked into her room, and stopped dead in my tracks. The woman in the bed did not look like my grandmother, and my very big imagination tried to convince me it was a “walking dead zombie”. I laugh now, but standing in the room, trying to understand that this was actually my grandma and not a zombie so I didn’t run out of the room scared took a bit of time!

It was downhill from there. I was unprepared on how much she had changed in a week since I had seen her last.

Jan 20th, knowing what to expect, I told the family I was going back. I wanted to be there for my grandmother. I had located a “memoir” she made me, 22 pages of stories typed up that she remembered from when she grew up that she gave me a few years ago. No one in the family I guess was aware that she took time to do this, or that I had it. I brought it with me, sat beside her bed and held her hand. I told her I loved her. I talked about our family members, what was new with them, how my one Aunt (her daughter) wouldn’t make it to see her that day as she has dr’s appts she has to deal with and that she loves her. My grandmother being sedated by morphine for the pain, tried to talk (or what sounded like her trying) and I comforted her, letting her know I know how difficult it was for her to respond, that I was there and that everything would be okay.

11am and my Uncle showed up, we talked a bit, and I had to head back home. I turned to my grandmother, told her I would see her Wednesday and that I loved her and said goodbye.

My grandma passed 2pm, and I know she is happy. She has been reunited with my grandfather and my mother and everyone else who has passed before her. I am happy for her.. Sad for me.

Removing negative energy

Protect yourself from negative energies!

When you start to be more aware of your own psychic gifts, one of the first ones that will open up is “empathic” ability. This will allow you to pick up energy and feelings/emotions alot more easily. It will take you a bit more time to learn if it’s coming from yourself, or the people around you. Starting to be in tune with the emotions of others can also be hard on yourself. If you’re already an emotionally connected person and your taking on a flood of other energy, you might find this difficult to deal with, and might have yourself being more moody than you would normally be.

Let’s face it. There are people out in the world who just carry their negativity with them, and if your around it and not aware of how to protect yourself, your empathic abilities will absorb it like a sponge! Have you ever gotten up in the morning and had a great day. Everything seemed to be going right. You head out to the grocery store to pick up a few things for dinner and there is another person standing in the grocery isle. Without warning, you start to feel grumpy with all the people around you. Feeling irritated that you might have to wait in line a few minutes longer than you had planned. That your favorite candy bar is not on the shelf. Strange that you would be in a great mood, and then all of a sudden it switches. Alot of this has to do with picking up the emotions from those around you and not releasing them.

One of the best ways to protect yourself from other peoples negativity is to visualize yourself in a cocoon of light. (you can choose whatever color you feel connected too) Saying in your mind “only goodness may enter me and only goodness may leave me, if your not from the light please leave”. This will often repel any unwanted energies from affecting you.

If you are looking to start doing readings for yourself or your friends, you would also want to ensure that your protected from any negative energies that might be where you are. They are often attracted to spiritual energies and being more open to your abilities can do this.

Make sure to sit with your eyes closed, hands in your lap and visualize a light coming from the sky and going into the top of your head, pouring through your body and into your toes. It then leaves your toes and goes deep into mother earth, like roots from a tree. Feel yourself planted firmly. This is a great grounding technique to help protect you.

If your interested in crystals and stones, then look for Black Tourmaline. This stone is known for its ability to positively transform and “cleanse” negative energy. It is considered to be one of the most powerful protectors in the crystal world, since it repels negative energy from the receiver and gives it back to the sender.

If you feel like your house has a lot of negative energy built up, look into using white sage. It’s easily the most recognizable smudging herb, and is commonly used to cleanse the energy of a space.

How long should you meditate for?

There are always going to be different opinions on how long you should meditate for. Let’s face the facts, life is busy. Who has time for 45 minutes to an hour to meditate? Despite that being good for you and keeping your life on track, many of us can’t make that happen.

I would suggest if you have the time to fit in 5 minutes when first waking up, this can set an amazing tone for your day!

Here is a quick guided meditation for you to get you started!

If you don’t have time for a video but still wanted to do a quick meditation, here is how you get started!

  1. Sit or lie comfortably.
  2. Close your eyes.
  3. Make no effort to control the breath; simply breathe naturally.
  4. Focus your attention on the breath and on how the body moves with each inhalation and exhalation. Notice the movement of your body as you breathe. Observe your chest, shoulders, rib cage, and belly. Simply focus your attention on your breath without controlling its pace or intensity. If your mind wanders, return your focus back to your breath.

Maintain this meditation practice for two to three minutes to start, and then try it for longer periods.

Dreams are the gateway to insight in your life!

I dream ALOT. Almost every night. Some of the dreams I have had are just plain “crazy” and others are relatively funny. From the time I dreamt of a giant spider climbing in my cabin window, followed to a tiger that was chasing it, to dreaming that I was in the plants vs zombies game with my kids and fighting to kill the zombies! (Yes they looked the same as the game!)

Dreams can be silly and have no meaning, other dreams are visits from your loved ones who have crossed over, and others still, are ones from your guides trying to answer the questions you seek about the direction and insight you need in your life.

So how do you determine which is which? A dream journal is the perfect way to get started! By using a journal writing out everything you remember and using a dream journal to translate the stronger parts of your dream.

1. Amethyst

2. Dream quartz

3. Hemimorphite

4. Herkimer diamond

Place one or all under your pillow before you goto bed. You will find that your dreams are more intense and visual. Allowing you more insight into the direction that you need to go.

I once had a dream about a very large black spider. He was bigger than a small dog and I was freaked out! He was in my basement suite I had when I was in my early 20s, and he would run behind this arm chair. The arm chair was white, with these huge purple flowers on it. I would pick up a work shoe and chuck it at the spider and he in turn would run behind the arm chair just out of reach.

What do you make of this dream?

Answer your questions with a pendulum!

Do you have a quick yes/no question that your just dying to have answered and not sure what you should do? A pendulum is an amazing tool that can help you decipher quick direction from your guides if it’s yes, or no.

When using your pendulum, ask your guides to help guide you to the answers that you seek. A yes answer, will have your pendulum swing in a circle, a no answer, will have your pendulum swing in a back and forth motion. If your pendulum is unsure, or it’s more complex than a simple yes/no answer, your pendulum will swing in a diagonal motion.

I ain’t afraid of no ghost…

I would have to say that this is completely FALSE! Despite the fact I know there are ghosts out there and have had my own experiences, there are things like what my husband has experienced that would have me running from the house screaming!

My husband was staying at a friends house, he friends girlfriend lost her son due to a work place accident about 6 months prior. Since his friends house is a few hours drive from ours, he was going to crash there for the weekend. The room they offered him to sleep in, was her late sons bedroom. You see where I am going here right?

My husband is not as open to spiritual experiences as I am, despite knowing what I do to help people. He laid down to go to sleep and was awoken, by someone grabbing his ankles and dragging him off the bed. He lands on the floor, blankets and all and immediately tries to jump up, thinking his friend is playing a prank on him. Only he is the only one in the room!

From my own experience, we lived in townhouse. My garage had a room above it that was connected to the house through a bathroom. (odd right?). It was late at night, our daughter was not even 2, was sound asleep in her room, my husband sound asleep in ours. I am working on readings for clients when I hear foot steps walking from the bedrooms towards where I am working. I move my chair over and peek down the hall. No one is there. I think it’s my husband, I walk down the hall, he is fast asleep. Check in on my daughter, and she too is sound asleep….

I have seen enough and heard enough to know that ghost are real. I’d love to hear your experience. Do you think ghosts are real, or an easy explanation?

Guided Meditation

I have been to many events and lectures. Whether it was James Van Praagh, John Holland, Doreen Virtue or Sylvia Browne. Each event, they walk you through a bit of a guided meditation. Often being able to raise the vibration of the room and give you a more upbeat and relaxed feeling.

Some of the meditations have involved meeting my guide for the first time, located at a waterfall. I had known what he looked like and communicated with him before, but this actually felt like we were standing face to face and being able to hug him and thank him for the help on this journey was an amazing feeling.

The one that will really stand out to me for the rest of my life, is an Event that James Van Praagh had put on. It was in Richmond and was 6 months after my mom had crossed over.

He had us sit there with our eyes closed, palms facing up. This is what he told us to visualize:

You see yourself walking through the forest on a path. The path can be rocks, cobblestone, or even dirt. Seeing the path marked with flowers or rocks, and you walk through these large trees. Looking up you can see that they feel the sky as if your in a canopy of them. Lush and green. You continuing walking and finding this so peaceful. As you get further in, you notice its getting thinner further ahead, more light coming through and it opens up into this beautiful little area with a large fountain. There are seats around it and as you walk closer you notice that they are made out of marble. The seats are white with this intricate design going through. You reach down and you touch the seat. It’s cool to the touch and feels good against your skin. You turn around and sit down on this bench and look up. In front of you, is now your loved one who has crossed over..

Imagine my surprise, when there in front of me, stood my mom. She had on a white shirt, with some sort of picture on the front (likely a cat or similar). Black pants, and her black purse was hung over her right shoulder. She looked at me with tears in her eyes, I could feel how much she missed me. I cried (not just in the meditation, but real tears! Just like I am right now as I write this experience!) I stand up, and we move together and I hug her. I can feel her again and it’s so nice.

I can hear other people at this event crying too. It doesn’t last long before he brings everyone back to the room with getting us to open our eyes. I look to my right, the woman is crying, wiping her tears. I look to the left, my sister as well is crying.

I know how to tune into my psychic abilities, but I still have that side like we all do, questioning “is this real”? Later that night, without saying to my sister what I had seen, I asked her if she had seen mom. She said yes. I asked her “what was mom wearing when you seen her?” My sister described the EXACT same outfit that I had seen. Down to every little detail.

Guided meditations can be for more than just connecting you with your loved one. Here are more ways it can benefit you 🙂

  • Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations.
  • Building skills to manage your stress.
  • Increasing self-awareness.
  • Focusing on the present.
  • Reducing negative emotions.
  • Increasing imagination and creativity.
  • Increasing patience and tolerance.

Open up your psychic abilities

I truly believe that we are all psychic. We all have the ability to see into the future. Whether its a few minutes ahead to better prepare ourselves, or if our guides provide insight that allow us to choose the right direction.

Although we are all born with the ability, over time we tend to shut it off, or start to think of the signs we see or are just coincidence. Even when it lines up and you’re thinking “wow I knew this would happen” we still second guess what comes in!

What if I told you, starting to open up your abilities again is just a matter of tuning back in? I know, easier said than done right? Here is a quick visualization to signal to your guides that your open and ready. They will find ways to put opportunities in your path that will continue to increase the abilities that you have.

Take into consideration that no two psychics are alike. Our life experiences are always going to be different, the messages we receive from our guides will be tailored to those experiences so we can interpret the images better not only for ourselves but potential clients.

Just as there is more than one psychic ability, you will find that one area will be stronger and more developed than someone else. Does not mean that you can’t work on other psychic abilities, just means one will be easier for you than the others.

VISUALIZING TECHNIQUE

I want you to find a quiet place. Sitting with your legs straight and not crossed, hands in your lap with your palms facing up. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

I want you to picture an eye ball on your forehead. Just above your brow lines and in the centre. You will visualize your third eye opening, and then blinking a few times. This will signal to your guides that you’re ready and willing to listen.

If you are feeling over whelmed (which can happen if your empathic ability is really heightened) visualize your third eye closing and remaining closed. This might give you a bit of time to re-centre yourself!

Protect against negative energy

Protect yourself from negative energy!

When you start to open up your own Psychic gifts, a lot of the times you will notice your Empathic abilities heightened first. This means that you feel EVERYTHING. Could even include any negative energy that other people are carrying around, or spirits that sense that your more “awake”. It’s always best to protect yourself when possible. Whether it’s your day to day life, or if you’re trying to provide readings for other people. Here are a few quick ways to protect yourself!

When providing readings, it’s always best to “ground” yourself. I am sure that you have heard this many times before, but here is a quick technique to get you started.

Sitting with your hands face up in your lap, and your eyes closed, visualize yourself standing tall. You are a giant oak tree. Your feet are going to grow roots and dig deep into Mother Earth. The rest of you, your long body and head and arms continue to reach up and grow taller and taller until you are the tallest tree. You can see everything around you, feeling the breeze. Visualize the beautiful sun shining it’s rays down on you and into your crown chakra. Feel the warmth and allow this energy to go through you, down into the roots you have created.

Another way would be to utilize stones as a way to offer protection. Carrying it in your pocket, your bra, in your purse, under your pillow etc. I think you get the picture!

Here are 5 stones that can help right away!

  • Black Tourmaline. This stone is known for its ability to positively transform and “cleanse” negative energy. …
  • Black Onyx. This smooth, dark crystal is known to protect its owner from harmful spirits, psychic attacks, and black magic. …
  • Jet. …
  • Smokey Quartz. …
  • Hematite.

If you have sage already you can use this technique as well.

Burn a candle, set an intention, and then light the sage using the candle. “Blow it out so the embers are glowing. With both hands, bring the smoke into your heart, over your head and down the front and back body to cleanse yourself

What I see when doing a TTC or Pregnancy Reading

A lot of my clients come to me for a fertility reading, or a pregnancy reading and I am happy to do them! But what does that process look like and why is everyone’s readings so different?

When I get started on a trying to conceive or a pregnancy reading, right after I view the pregnancy history they start to focus on the child to come. I instantly feel connected to a month, knowing that it would be either birth month, conceive month or the month you find out in. Followed by their gender. This is when things start to change from one client to the next.

My guides will at times focus on your pregnancy, how it will affect you, will you be tired, have cravings. They might focus on the birth, will your baby be early or late? How much will they weigh and do they have a lot of hair when they are born or very little?

They might just jump right into your child’s personality. Giving me a snap shot of perhaps things they like as a kid, what hobbies they might enjoy. The way that they might like to dress or things they dislike. Perhaps more focus is given on their teen years. What hobbies and interests they lean towards, the type of friends they hang around and what you might notice about being their parent and providing support. Your guides will usually give an indication of career aspects, where their interests lie and direction(field) I am seeing them going as well as their age when they get married and how many kids.

Each reading is unique, just like you and your family. Your guides focus on aspects they feel are important, to allow you to connect to your reading and your child even before they will be here!

The information that comes through, is like telling you about a child that I have already met, and explaining what they are like. I see pictures of them in my mind. How they hold themselves, the way they smile, how they might wear their hair or even the type of clothes that they will choose.

When it comes to predictions with multiple children, your guides show me a family portrait. Like you all decided to head over to the photographer and pose together for a picture. I can see the sizes of the children, determining approx how far apart they are. How they interact with their siblings and the family dynamic. How you all interact together as a family, how you parent, and how your children react.

In readings, I allow whatever your guides wish to show you. I type it all out, let it flow through me and give you whatever images they show. The feelings I get, the emotions that come out of it. If someone has a question about the reading, or interested in other aspects of their children all they have to do is ask. Even though it wasn’t in the reading at the time, doesn’t mean that your guides won’t fill you in should you ask.
